New Training Timetable from October 17
To coincide with the re-opening of Stringer next week and the start of fixtures in November, the Club has had to make a number of changes to the training timetable effective from October 17th.

COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedure
YOU SHOULD NOT ATTEND TRAINING OR MATCHES IF:
- You or any family member has any symptoms of coronavirus – high temperature >37.8°, a new continuous cough or a loss/change to your sense of smell or taste
- You or a family member has had a positive Covid test and you are still in your isolation period. If you still have a high temperature after your isolation period you must not return to basketball, you should continue to isolate
- You have been advised to self-isolate by another establishment e.g. school
- You have returned from a foreign country in the last 14 days which has not got a travel bridge in place with the UK.
- You and your family has been advised to self-isolate by NHS Test and Track
- You should not attend training if you are not well enough to attend school

Co-Chairman's Report for the 2019/20 Season
With our 2019/20 season ending prematurely on Saturday 9th March, this end of season Chair’s report is little light on notable basketball events that we usually see at the end of a full season. Nonetheless it wouldn’t be right to miss out congratulating the u16’s team who topped their regional pool and the NL Womens team who were once again set to make the playoffs, along with all players, coaches and Team Managers in all teams on their hard work and commitment.

End of Season Message from Co-Chair Sean Jupp
Saturday 9th May would have been our end of season presentations for 2019/20, where traditionally we recap the highs and lows of the season, the matches, individual performances and other notable events that took place plus, of course, hand out some well-deserved awards and thanks.

Following the most recent government updates, Basketball England have now taken the decision to suspend all basketball related activities for the remainder of the season.

Basketball Coaches wanted for 2019/20 season
Brighton Cougars Basketball Club is one of the largest basketball clubs in South East England and is currently looking to recruit at least one additional L2 or L3 coach for its junior National League programme. Based in Brighton, East Sussex, you would need to be available two evenings a week for training plus weekends for home and away fixtures which may be on a Saturday or a Sunday.

If you’re currently in school years 5-10, are athletic and enjoy other sports like netball or hockey, then why not come along to our Open Trials? No experience necessary, just lots of enthusiasm and energy. For our Women’s teams some basketball experience is preferred as both teams play at a fairly high level.
