Women’s Team Triumph In Sussex Plate Final

Last Sunday (May 18) the Cougars Women’s team were victorious against local rivals the Brighton Uni Panthers, in a closely fought match that saw them crowned Plate Champions of Sussex.
The result went down to the wire – with the Cougars down by 5 point with 1m 30s left on the clock on the final quarter.
But the Cougars clawed back victory, with an aggressive match-up defence helping Emelie Swerre, Dora Keresztes and captain Aude Eberlin to post 6-points in the final seconds.
A special mention goes to forward Ella Sherman who was named MVP thanks to her dominant performance inside the key. Junior members Janice Pang and Natty Hilton also performed admirably.
A big thank you goes to coach Matt Kelly for his expert advice throughout the season, the girls couldn't have done it without you.
The women’s basketball team will continue training throughout the summer, with open sessions available for all skill levels on Tuesday nights.
