Under 14s register first win

Brighton Cougars Under 14s registered their first win of the season on Sunday. A full strength team travelled to Bognor Regis to play the Royals in a high scoring affair which saw the Brighton team prevail against a late threat from the hosts.
The Cougars raced into a 31-13 lead in the first quarter finishing layups and defending strongly buoyed by a vocal travelling support.
The Bognor Royals main threat came from a strong point guard who was driving hard to the basket against traffic.
At half time the Brighton team were comfortably ahead with the scores 22-51 but they faced what was to be a challenging final half.
The Royals stepped up their defence and attacked the basket in the third quarter scoring 21 points compared to the visitors' 17.
This momentum continued into the fourth quarter when the Royals outscored the Cougars again scoring 19 compared to the Cougars 17. But the Brighton team walked off winners.
The final score was 84-62.
