New National League teams

Brighton Cougars with the support of Brighton Hove and Sussex Sixth Form College (BHASVIC) are launching a new national league (NL) programme in Brighton for the 2014/15 season. The programme includes boys u16 and u18 with a men’s team entered in division four.
BHASVIC for a number of years under the leadership of Dave Goss have run an elite national college programme and oversaw Worthing Thunders u18NL teams last year. BHASVIC now want to help Cougars develop the game further in the city. Dave was also founder of Brighton & Worthing Bears and his experience will be invaluable for the men’s team that has been entered in NL for the first time.
Trials for all these teams start in July and players should attend as many of the dates a possible. The coaches want to see as many players as possible and give them more than one chance to show their abilities and basketball potential. For u16’s in particular we will welcome players who feel they have the physical ability to paly national league but just need a bit longer to develop with the support of good coaching and lots of court time. If you are u15 and want to try out for the u16 programme please contact us first.
