The following is a extraxt from an email sent today by Mr Richard
Bradford, Headteacher at Dorothy Stringer School to all parents
	and guardians :
' I am writing to let you know about a distressing incident that
happened this morning involving one of our year 11 students.
Whilst walking to school early this morning a female student was
assaulted crossing the fields from Varndean College to Stringer.
We are pleased to say that she is safe and well. The police,
however, would like us to work with parents to make all students
aware of any possible danger and encourage students to, where
possible, walk with a friend to school and keep to the lit
pathways and roads, especially at this time of year when it is
still a bit dark before and after school.'
Please follow the advice regarding coming on and to the campus -
juniors should walk with a friend or adult to the gym and keep to
	the lit pathways and roads.
Thank you
