Cougars vs Crawley Cagers in Crawley - this was a tough game against a bigger, stronger and organised Crawley team. They imposed a full court press from the off which threw the Cougars and saw the quarter end 24-6. The visiting team missed easy layups, passed poorly and gave away fouls for plus ones.
But the Cougars switched tack in the second quarter playing a big man in the post with a long range shooter taking aim outside the 3 point arc to clock up 17 points to the home team's 23. The half ended 47-23.
The four quarter saw the Cougars settle and attack the press scoring 15 to 21 and the fourth and final period was the lowest scoring with the Crawley team registering 14 compared to the Cougar's 7. The final score was 82-45.
Cougars vs Brighton Phoenix at home - the Cougars set out to stop the long range shooting of Phoenix and pack the lane to stop layups. The Phoenix set up a full court press and in the first quarter both teams clocked up 15 points.
But in the second quarter the home team attacked the press, passed well and were much more clinical in finishing scoring 28 points to 13.
After half time, the Cougars stepped off the gas leaving both teams registering 11 points. The visiting team stepped up the pace and in the final quarter scored 19 to the Cougars' 15. The final score was 69-57
